Nitong Marso 12 lang ay inanunsyo ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na magpapatupad ang pamahalaan ng community quarantine sa National Capital Region. Ito ay upang labanan ang pagkalat ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Sa isang social media post, binatikos ni James Carwyn Candila ang naging hakbang ni Pangulong Duterte. Para kay Candila, taktika lang daw ito para isulong ang martial law sa rehiyon. Si Candila ay miyembro ng DIWA ng Kabataang Lasalyano.
“TODAY, DUTERTE IS USING THE COVID-19 CRISIS TO ESTABLISH A MARTIAL LAW IN METRO MANILA,” boladas ni Candila.
Hindi din gusto ni Candila ang pakikibahagi ng Philippine National Police (PNP) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa nasabing community quarantine.
“HE WILL MOBILIZE THE AFP AND PNP TO ROVE AROUND OUR STREETS. IF THE YOUTH IS CAUGHT, THEY WILL BE BROUGHT TO POLICE STATION FOR QUESTIONING,” patutsada pa ni Candila.
Ang mga boladas ni Candila laban sa administrasyon ay nakaakit naman ng mga sari-saring komento.
